Is skill to be certified?
We have completed the implementation of a skill using APL and my skill available under development category only. Do I need to submit for certification and move it to alexa skill for this competition?

Hi! Yes, you do. Your skill must be submitted for certification AND submitted to Devpost by the deadline of January 22nd @ 5pm EST. The certification period means you have another month to actually pass certification, but it must be submitted for certification by Jan. 22nd @ 5pm EST.
For most of the prizes, your skill must be certified in at least the US Skill Store. For the international bonus prizes, your skill must be certified in that specific country's store. A skill can be certified in multiple countries as long as it supports the local language. You can see more on this here: https://alexamultimodal.devpost.com/details/prizes
All the best,
Stef

Hi Stefanie, what happens if the certification fails, sometimes is necesary make changes, for these cases is valid the date of the first submitions (to certification) or the last (approved). Regards

Yes, that's true. We allow you to make minor changes in order to pass. From the rules "Makers will be allowed to make minor changes (such as bug fixes) during the Certification Period to move through the certification phase. No substantial changes will be allowed, and all Skills that do not pass certification by the end of the Certification Period will be ineligible for prizes in the Competition."
However, certification does take a little longer with the multimodal skills so try to make the edits as quickly an efficiently as possible for the best chance at getting cleared before the certification deadline.
Best,
Stefanie

Hi Stef,
As I am beginner to alexa, it's taking little longer and back and forth comments on the certification process. As I don't want to miss this opportunity, Is there any concession for beginners ? :-)

Sugumar

Hi! While I'd love to say yes, I can't :) We have to follow the rules set out for everyone. However, keep at it and if you have any trouble, jump over to the competition Slack channel. The participants are super helpful and one of the Alexa evangelists is checking in each weekday for specific technical help.
I wish you luck!
