Prizes

Overall Prizes:

  • Participant Prize
  • Note: Certified and eligible skills may win a participation prize. One prize per submission, and only one prize per eligible submitter. If you submit 5 skills, you will only win 1 prize.
    • NEW Skills: Eligible participants in the U.S. will take home a New Echo Dot (3rd Gen ) + Fire TV Stick 4K bundle while international participants will receive a gift card of equivalent value.
    • Updated Skills: Eligible participants in the U.S. will take home a New Echo Dot (3rd Gen), while international participants will receive a gift card of equivalent value.
  • Finalist Prize: Ten finalists will take home $5,000 each and have their skill promoted to Alexa customers by Amazon across multiple channels to face off for the grand prize.
  • Grand Prize: The winner for the overall best Multimodal skill will be chosen from the finalists and will receive $20,000 on top of their finalist prize.

Content Bonus Prizes – Winners of these bonus prizes will receive $3,000 and need not be a finalist

  • Bonus Prize - Best Multimodal Living Room experience (examples: Fire TV, home entertainment, family games, etc.)
  • Bonus Prize - Best Multimodal Kitchen experience (examples: cooking demos, appliance integrations, etc.)
  • Bonus Prize - Best Multimodal Bedtime experience (examples: bedtime stories, sleep meditation, etc.)
  • Bonus Prize - Best Multimodal Morning experience (examples: alarm clocks, traffic report, etc.)
  • Bonus Prize - Best Multimodal Kids Skill experience (examples: educational, entertaining, interactive skills aimed toward children 13 and younger)
  • Bonus Prize - Best Multimodal Experience integrating In-Skill Purchases

International Bonus Prizes – Winners of these bonus prizes will receive $3,000 and need not be a finalist. Skills competing for International Bonus Prizes must be entered on the competition website, submitted for certification in that country’s Skill Store before the end of the submission period, and support the primary language for that country or region.

IMPORTANT NOTE ON MULTIPLE PRIZE ELIGIBILITY:

  • The same eligible Skill may win a Participation Prize, a Finalist Prize, and the Grand Prize, but a Grand Prize winner may not win an International Skill Store Bonus Prize or a Category Bonus Prize.
  • A skill that is NOT the Grand Prize winner may be eligible to win up to one category bonus prize AND up to one international skill store bonus prize.
  • A Finalist Prize winner may also win a Bonus Prize. A Bonus Prize may be awarded to a Skill that is not a Finalist Prize winner.
  • Each Maker is limited to receiving one Participation Prize, regardless of the number of eligible Skills entered by the Maker.
