Parental Consent Form
Every submission by a team of developers aged 13-17 years old is required to have one parent or legal guardian submit the skill to the U.S. Alexa Skill Store and complete and sign a CONSENT FORM on behalf of the team. Participants under 18 must be from the U.S. and Canada.
Forms must be provided to Devpost using the file attachment field on the submission form.
HOW TO ENTER (AGE 13 - 17 FROM THE U.S. AND CANADA ONLY)
- Register for the Alexa Skills Challenge: Multimodal on Devpost.
- Ask your parent or guardian to sign for up an Amazon Developer Account.
- Ask your parent or guardian for help with your submission on alexamultimodal.devpost.com. This will include providing a signed consent form enabling you to use their Amazon Developer Account. The submission form must include your Skill ID once you’ve built it. It will also include a demo video and screenshots of your functioning skill. Review the rules for video requirements.
- Review the Resources page to learn more about the Alexa Skills Kit, designing for voice, and submitting your skill for
- Build your skill!
- Host your skill on AWS Lambda (recommended), or another hosting service of your choice. Your parent or guardian may apply to receive $100 in AWS promotional credit.
- Ask your parent or guardian to submit your skill on devpost.com AND submit your skill for Alexa Skill Store certification before 5:00pm ET on January 22, 2019. Your skill must pass certification before 5:00pm ET on February 22, 2019.

Main Requirement: Build (or update) and publish a skill that uses the new Alexa Presentation Language (APL) to add multimodal elements to voice-first experiences.
NOTES: Skills using display interface or display templates are NOT eligible. Your skill must use APL and include at least one APL document to qualify.
Your skill must be usable on voice-only devices such as the Amazon Echo, and must use APL to add visual content when used on compatible devices with displays such as Echo Show, Echo Spot, and Fire TV.
Submission Package: A skill description, video demo, and other information must be submitted on the Devpost website by January 22, 2019 at 5:00pm EST to be considered. For a complete list of requirements, see the Official Rules.
Certification: All skills must be submitted to the Alexa Skill Store by January 22, 2019 at 5:00pm EST and PASS certification by February 22, 2019 at 5:00pm EST.
- Submissions applying for Category Prizes, Finalist Prizes, and the Grand Prize must use the U.S. Alexa Skills Store.
