Long Certification Period

I submitted my Skill on December 13th, and still without conclusion, is still 'In Review' Status, I remember in the past, the certification process was around 1 week

    Hey Laurence,

For this challenge, we have a much longer certification period because APL is new and all the skills are multi-device.

We also send the Alexa team all the skill IDs that have been submitted to Devpost each week so the certification team knows which skills are part of this challenge. I don't see a submission in from you yet. I recommend you start a submission form on Devpost soon. You can keep going back to edit the form until the deadline, but that will allow us to track your skill ID.

    Thanks!

Hi Stefanie, I published two entries to the contest, at same time I submitted these two Skills for certification, how long will take this?

Hi! I'll see if I can get a rough estimate. It definitely takes a little longer than for a voice-only skill to go through the certification process. Hang tight!

    Best,
    Stefanie

Hey! Ok they said the estimated turnaround time is about 5 business days for APL and multimodal skills in certification. Keep in mind that at the end of the challenge, they get a bit swamped with submissions so if you can enter early, you should.

    Best,
    Stefanie

Can make any changes to skill while it is in In Review ?

  • Manager   •   over 7 years ago

Technically yes, but I'd be cautious of making changes that the certification team didn't suggest. You want to be careful not to cause your skill to fail certification.

    Thanks!

Is it ok to make changes suggested by certificate team even after deadline on Jan 22 , 2019 ?

My submission of skill was 29 Dec. First certification feedback took just 2 days. Second certification took 7 days. But now it is almost 9 days and I see no response from certification team. Early review will help me to improve/rectify my skill early, as well as to get more user engagement. Please check.

Hi Encoreldeas - The average time is around 5 business days, but keep in mind that towards the end of the submission period they get a lot more skills to review than they usually do. Is your skill already submitted to Devpost? If so, we've already shared the skill IDs submitted to us up until about 11:30am EST yesterday for the certification team to prioritize. If you don't hear anything by Tuesday morning, send me an email with your skill ID and name stefanie@devpost.com and I'll see if I can get them to take a look at the status.

Hi Chi - Yes, but only small changes that the certification team requests in order to pass. Check out this thread: https://alexamultimodal.devpost.com/forum_topics/32843-resubmission-if-we-fail-certification

    All the best,
    Stef
